Suyapa Portillo on Vivir en Xibalbá Podcast (Español)

Suyapa Portillo appears on the podcast Vivir en Xibalbá in the episode “las mujeres y la huelga bananera del 54.”

There are so many stories in Honduras that they don’t tell us, or that they want us to forget. One of them is that of women in the banana sector, both in the strike of ‘54 and today. To tell us about these wonderful stories, two great women Suyapa Portillo (with a historical perspective) and Iris Munguía, a worker and daughter of a banana worker (with the current situation and struggle) accompany us and they share us and help us to reject forgetting, and build memory.
